Darien recently began working with Rising Gallery in Denver Co, displaying his work alongside artists including: David Choe, Banksy, Ron English, Ben Frost and Warhol. While only getting started, Darien is already starting to make waves.
Growing up in Havana, luxury and excess have always been a fantasy. When I was studying Art History and learned about the Rococo movement, I immediately fell in love with it. The opulence and whimsical frivolousness of the era captured something in my imagination that struck a chord.

In the past, wealthy art patrons immortalized themselves in art, depicting themselves as the key figure in classical myths and stories. I try and do this using icons of our generation. Many of the women in my paintings are social media stars, Playboy Playmates and Pop Cultural icons blending the modern with the past.
